Hi, I’m Steven — Founder & CEO of SECONDRING LLC. I’ve spent a lifetime helping people protect, understand, and get the most from their technology. What started with a 7th-grade Apple IIe classroom turned into military service, decades of hands-on experience, and a passion for going above and beyond for every customer I support. SECONDRING was built on a simple idea:
Do more than the minimum. Serve people with integrity. Protect what matters.
My Story
A lifetime of curiosity, service, and one misunderstood BBS name.
I knew technology would be a part of my life the moment I walked into my 7th-grade computer class. A room full of Apple IIe computers… and I remember thinking:
“Oh yea… this is what I wanna do.”
From that moment on, I became a sponge. If it beeped, blinked, or broke — I wanted to understand it. That curiosity carried me into the U.S. Air Force, where I learned discipline, responsibility, and what it truly means to serve others.

The First Ring and the Second Ring
Early on, I learned a simple idea:

The First Ring is what people have to do — the minimum, the basics.

The Second Ring is what people choose to do — going above and beyond, helping others, doing more because it matters.
I always knew I belonged in the Second Ring.

The 1990s — Where the Name SECONDRING Started
In the early '90s, I ran a BBS (Bulletin Board System). I named it SECONDRING, inspired by the “Second Ring” philosophy of service.
But when I explained the meaning, some BBS users thought I was a bit of a philosophical oddball and stopped calling back. 😄
So I started giving a simpler explanation:
“My BBS line just picks up on the second ring.”
People loved that.
But I always knew the real meaning.

How SECONDRING LLC Became a Business
As the years went on, I became the person people trusted when technology went sideways — when systems crashed, emails failed, or businesses needed someone who genuinely cared.
What began as helping friends and neighbors eventually grew into a full MSP offering:
